Meet George Talton and Troy Guthrie who are the hands-on men doing the demolition work at the Depot. Here you can see them taking out the old deteriorated plaster/wire mesh ceiling.

We’re preserving as much of the Depot as possible including woodwork while recognizing that this is an adaptive re-use project that will give the Depot a new life with a new tenant when complete. Put your thinking cap on about “wow” uses you can imagine for both the first and second floors.
We’re planning to have some tours open in a few weeks once the majority of the demolition work is complete and the floors are clear.
This project is a partnership of the owner, the North Carolina Railroad, as well as City of New Bern, and the New Bern Preservation Foundation. Thanks again to all our partners, donors, and community supporters.
