An update on the Foundation’s biggest project ever. We’re rolling in 2018 to finish the first floor of the Station by the end of July 2018 to rough shell space suitable for a tenant to consider. Our overall goal is to deliver a beautifully rehabilitated building that has a “wow” use for the community.
This project is a partnership of the North Carolina Railroad Company (building owner), City of New Bern, NC Government, the New Bern Preservation Foundation, and the greater New Bern community. Our team of professionals met today in a pre-construction conference and will kick off the rehabilitation work on January 30th with a 180-day timeline.
Here’s our team (L-R) Tripp Eure (MBF Architects, PA), Barry Purinton (City of New Bern, Pubic Works), and Bishop and Eddie Williams of Primus Contracting, Inc.

Thank you to the North Carolina Railroad Company, the New Bern community, the past and present leaders of the City of New Bern and the Preservation Foundation, and to the many donors who have provided crucial support to make this project happen.
We have a long way to go and will be back in the community to continue our fundraising, but with your help we’ll deliver a “wow” project for the community that you can be proud of.
